Sir Richard Blackmore (1654-1729), King Arthur, a heroick poem in 12 books

[London, printed for Awnsham and John Churchil at the Black Swan in Pater-Noster-Row, and Jacob Tonson at the Judges Head in Fleet-Street, 1697], bound with the 3rd edition of the same author's Prince Arthur (1696)

Bangor's copy of this double edition of Blackmore's two lengthy poems, published shortly after each other, hints at both the popularity and the financial potential of Arthurian literary productions in the seventeenth century. In his time Blackmore's poetical works were considered dull; however, he was respected for his other job as the Queen's physician.
