Jones, Frank H. The Life and Death of King Arthur: A Play. In IV Scenes, the first III adapted from the Morte d'Arthur, the last from Tennyson's 'Idylls of the King.' London: Macmillan and Co., 1930.

In The Life and Death of King Arthur (1930) by British author Frank H. Jones, the pulling of the sword from the stone is the subject of the first of four scenes, the others taking up the quest for the Grail and the passing of Arthur. In his Note on the Play, Jones acknowledges that the first three scenes are 'as imitative of Malory the writer could contrive' and admits to 'lifting' the fourth scene from Tennyson. The play 'was originally written for and produced by the boys of Wellesley School, Croydon.'
