Six Ballads about King Arthur. London: Keegan Paul, Trench & Co., 1881.

Six Ballads about King Arthur is an anonymous work addressed to children by an author who calls herself 'Your Loving Granny.' She tells the children that 'The stories are taken from a book called "Morte d'Arthur" which you will read when you are older, and will see that I have often used the very words of the translator.' The six ballads recount events from the legend, including Arthur's begetting and birth, his pulling the sword from the stone, King Ryence's challenge, Arthur's marriage to Guinevere, the quest for the Grail, and the death of Arthur.
